Defining the future of luxe residential dev’ts

Two new developments rising in the metro represent what could be the ideal future of residences in the country.

One is Haraya Residences, which is located within the Bridgetowne destination estate in Pasig City and sits exactly on the riverfront, with all residential units and common areas taking full advantage of the views. The other is Shang Residences at Wack Wack, which rises within its namesake location along Shaw Boulevard, and enjoys proximity to Edsa and several central business districts.

Here are some points as to why these two developments can be the blueprint for better, more sustainable residential developments.

Thoughtfully designed living spaceOne important aspect in high-density residential developments is the actual physical as well as perceived space provided to users.

In this regard, both Haraya and Shang Residences at Wack Wack stand out because they not only provide enough space, they also offer areas that are comfortable. This is achieved through proper planning of the space to ensure that users experience an ergonomic flow of activities within, proper proportioning of the said space, and fenestration works to lend it a visual sensation of spatial depth.

Haraya, in particular, also has the novel feature of loggia, which is essentially a large outdoor living room cum balcony that translates perfectly to the Filipino lifestyle and habits. This concept, straight out of the mind of its Italian designer, allows multiple functions to happen in the same space.

These efforts towards designing residences that are amply sized and livable at a human scale work to create a flexible, comfortable and multi-functional living space that cater to the users’ needs in the long term. This is a quality that is rarely seen and much-needed for the future development of increasingly dense metropolises.

Access to open space, recreational facilities

Parks and recreational facilities are a rarity in most major city centers. So the fact that Haraya and Shang Residences at Wack Wack are among the few high-rise residential buildings that have direct access to both open green spaces and extensive leisure and sports facilities catering to all needs and age groups, means both developments are truly noteworthy in this aspect.

In particular, Haraya, which is situated in a future purpose-built hub with extensive parks for people to enjoy, is a prime example of what is possible for future high-density residential developments.

Developments that genuinely endeavor to provide not just basic places of residences but also facilities that contribute to residents’ physical and mental health and well-being–places to enjoy nature, partake in leisure activities, or pursue and maintain fitness–stand a better chance at creating places that people can truly call home.

Proximity to hubs of business and transport

It’s no secret that location is paramount to achieving maximum utility and convenience for users, as well as maximum value for proponents. Haraya and Shang Residences at Wack Wack both have this quality down pat, and in spades to boot.

Shang Residences at Wack Wack is just a short walk away from the Ortigas CBD and Edsa, while the Makati CBD is just one train or bus ride away. Haraya meanwhile is located almost right beside C-5 Road, another major artery towards Bonifacio Global City.

Such access to places of work and business is always a major boon for both career employees and entrepreneurs, as this minimizes travel and frees up time to further pursue their goals, attend to personal matters, or to simply enjoy life.
